Joint Filler and Membrane Application

A backer rod is a small foam rod or cord that is used to fill joints between tiles or other pieces of building material. Builders and contractors often use this tool initially in grooves or cracks and then they apply mortar, sealant, or chinking around it. The rod adds stability, precision, and also typically save time.

Primary Uses

Backer Rods

Builders use these sorts of foam rods for a number of different construction projects, but almost always in the context of filling gaps where materials join together. They’re most commonly used in tiling and flooring, but they can also be found in decorative wall paneling, window sealing, stonework, and counter tops.

Bitumen Boards

Bitumen Boards is a compressible bitumen impregnated fibre board for expansion joints. the impregnated softboard is made from natural wood fibres chips and proprietary materials, mechanically reduced to fibres which are then pressed to form a continuous sheet. Bitumen is incorporated into the board during manufacture to improve its moisture resistance and durability. Multi-purpose bituminized softboard made from natural wood fibers for roof, wall and floor in concrete and timber constructions.
