An economical, semi-rigid, bitumen impregnated board, designed as a joint filler material particularly for expansion joints in concrete that also provides support and accurate depth measurement for subsequent joint sealant materials. Bitumen is incorporated into the board during manufacture to improve its moisture resistance and durability.
Properties:
East to install.
Multi-purpose bituminized softboard made from natural wood fibres for roof, wall and floor in concrete and timber constructions.
Excellent recovery after 50% compression.
Good thermal insulation properties.
Excellent adhesion to concrete, metal and wood.
Uses:
It is typically used to fill expansion and movement joints in in-situ or pre-cast concrete, particularly on large civil engineering structures such as bridges, tunnels and dams.

How to Use:
New Expansion Joints: Cut the board using a sharp knife or hand saw to the desired length and shape to fill the full depth of the expansion joint. A contact adhesive can be used to spot bond the CRESBOARD BI in place. Allow the contact adhesive to set before constructing the other side of the joint. After concreting the other side of the joint, rake out the board to the same depth as the sealant that will be applied to finish the joint. Apply a bond tape to the bottom of the joint on top of the CRESBOARD BI, and seal the joint with an appropriate sealant from the CRES range.
Existing Expansion Joints: For existing expansion joints in concrete and for all joints in brickwork, blockwork and masonry, in accordance with BS 5628–3:2001. The Code of practice for use of masonry, We recommend using a closed cell polyethylene filler board such as CRESFILL PE, as it has higher compression & recovery, without the risk of load transfer or reflective cracking through the designed joint.
