CRES®THANE PU 400
Solvent based polyurethane waterproofing coating
A liquid-applied, highly permanent, elastic, cold applied one-component polyurethane membrane used for long lasting waterproofing. |
Properties:
- Single component, ready to use.
- When applied, it forms a seamless membrane without joints.
- Provides excellent crack bridging properties.
- Excellent adhesion to porous and non porous substrate.
Uses:
- Waterproofing of foundation, retaining wall, basements and columns etc.
- Waterproofing in terrace, balconies, planter boxes etc.
- Under-tile waterproofing in wet areas such as kitchen, bathrooms etc.
- Waterproofing and protection of concrete constructions.

How to Use:
- Surface should be sound, clean and free from contaminants and loosely adhering particles such as cement, laitance, rust scales etc. Concrete should preferably be dampen with water. In kitchens & wet areas all the opening should be properly sealed. Concrete should be cured for at least 28 days and should have a compressive strength of at least 25 Mpa. Loose friable material and weak concrete must be completely removed by mechanical means to achieve an open textured surface and all surface defects such as blowholes and voids must be fully exposed. Repairs to the substrate, filling of joints, blowholes/voids and surface leveling must be carried out using the appropriate CRES® products.
- Stir well before using for at least 2-3 minutes by using mechanical mixer until the material is homogenous. Apply the CRES®THANE PU 400 onto the surface by roller or brush, until all surface is covered. After 6 - 7 hours apply another layer of CRES®THANE PU 400. It can be applied by brush, roller or squeegee. When two or more coats are required, it is important that the preceding coat is fully dry before the successive coat is applied. Do not allow temporary ponding to remain between coats on any horizontal surfaces or until the final coating has totally cured. Brush or mop surface water away during this time. Coat should be brushed at right angle to each other. Do not apply CRES®THANE PU 400 in outside areas in wet weather or when rain is expected. Protect freshly applied product from rain until it’s fully cured.
